When I first reached out to Ainslie I was struggling with trying to figure out how to get my ideas of my online course out of my head and onto the page. I'm more of a "vision" person than a "techy" person and so I was feeling stressed that my vision wouldn't be able to come to life. - Sally Hope
Sally has been running much-loved online communities for years now, and recently began offering online kundalini meditation courses.
When we first began chatting about creating a dedicated site for her courses, she was experiencing frustration around her current method of using a Facebok group, email list, and a PayPal button on her website. While that system that got the job done, it was time consuming for Sally, and occasionally confusing for participants.
Looking for a more streamlined sales and content delivery process on the biz end, and a clearer way for students to interact with course content, Sally and I turned to the AccessAlly membership plugin for WordPress. We were both excited to try out their new integration with ConvertKit to make her life a whole lot easier.
All Great projects are collaborations
I like to think of all my web design and development projects as collaborations, and this project was the perfect example. Sally laid out for me how her course content would be structured, and I set to work designing a WordPress theme and content delivery methods to support her work.
You worked WITH me…I felt like it was a collaborative process. I didn't feel like I had to have it all figured out. I felt like there was a lot of room for me to be creative. That you love this techy stuff really helped me be able to JUST do what I do, (which) was wildly helpful for me who is used to having all my hands in all the pots. - Sally Hope
With Sally's energy freed up to create her next meditation course, I went to town on the tech side - migrating her MailChimp list to the dreamboat of email systems, ConvertKit, configuring the AccessAlly plugin to restrict content to specific logged in users, integrating with PayPal for sales, and setting up ConverKit for user management and list-building.
Design
Sally and I worked closely together on the design of her new membership site, creating a minimalist but fun design that is SO representative of her personal style while also allowing the content of her courses to be the real star of the site.

The Groundwork for future creations
With these systems integrated, we've laid the groundwork for Sally to offer as many future courses as she can dream up.
Since I have my new course platform, I feel more professional and more proud of the work I'm doing, which makes me want to share it more. I also feel more creative because now I know what's possible and I just want to create more. As a lover of kundalini yoga and superfan of all things Sally Hope (seriously, #hearteyesfordays), this was basically a dream project for me and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out! Sally and I are already dreaming up our next collab, and I seriously can't wait. #butduh
